To provide opportunities and a facility for the teachings and practices of Theravada Buddhism to continue and flourish through the presence of the ordained sangha on Vancouver Island, BC.

Our focus is to invite monastics from the Metta Forest Monastery whose abbot is Taan Ajaan Geoff, also known as Ṭhānissaro Bhikkhu. The monks will study and practice in line with the Dhamma and Vinaya.

Lay supporters, in keeping with Theravada Buddhist teachings and practices, will provide monastic requisites of food, clothing, shelter and medicine.

In addition, there will be opportunities to participate in the daily schedule of the monastery, which includes offering food, practicing solitary and group meditation, helping with chores, and receiving teachings.

Organizers are working towards establishing a permanent facility for monks to visit throughout the year.
